Studio on Ludlow. Your cosy hideaway on the doorstep of Table Mountain.

The Studio on Ludlow
Nestled on the ground floor of a 1970s home on a leafy Vredehoek street. A calm, easy-going studio with a king size bed, beautifully furnished with the little luxuries, and everything you need for a slow, comfortable stay. The mountain is right outside the door, and the best of Cape Town's City Bowl is a short walk away.

A local's guide
Everything here is a short stroll or a quick hop from the studio. Tap any spot to open directions.
The neighbourhood corner cafe on Derry. All-day breakfasts and killer coffee, with a wrap-around veranda staring straight at Table Mountain. Pet friendly, free wifi, and a fireplace for the grey days. Always a crowd at weekends.
A long-loved Cape Town cafe at the foot of the mountain, known for its cake counter. The spot for an afternoon slice and a coffee when the sweet tooth calls.
A Vredehoek institution since 2002. Thin-base wood-fired pizzas, handmade pasta and a surprisingly mean steak, with comfy couches, a candle-lit corner and a fully licensed bar. Quiet weeknight drink or a boisterous Friday, it does both.
Run by two Italians from Bologna and Florence, on Deer Park Drive. Handmade pasta, thin-crust pizza and the kind of host who checks you got the window seat. A true neighbourhood gem.
Where the road meets the mountain, with an expansive park beside it for kids and dogs to roam. Warm, attentive service, burgers and pizzas, plus a run of eclectic Indian-inspired specials. The natural reward at the end of a morning walk.
Your everyday stop on Derry Street for milk, bread, wine and whatever you forgot to pack. Close enough that you'll go more than once.
Round-the-clock washing on Derry Street. Handy after a dusty hike or a long week of beach days.
The gentlest way onto the mountain. Shaded, dog-friendly gravel paths along a stream that feed straight into Table Mountain National Park. Easy circular loops, or push higher toward Devil's Peak.
The classic, most direct route to the top of Table Mountain. Steep stone steps, roughly two to three hours up, and a view over the City Bowl, Robben Island and both oceans. Cable car down if your knees ask nicely.
On the mountain's eastern slopes, one of the great gardens of the world. The treetop canopy walkway, summer sunset concerts on the lawn, and indigenous fynbos in every direction.

While you're here
